The founder of Edwin Jeans, Mr K. K. Tsunemi was known to have a real passion for denim and this proved to be the inspiration for starting a jean manufacturing company in Tokyo back in 1947. As no denim was made in the country at that time, the material had to be brought in from the United States.

Undeterred, Mr Tsunemi worked with old, dirty and worn-out denim which required a lot of attention before being in a condition for sale. This drove him to begin creating his own Edwin denim products, which were more sophisticated in terms of washes, fits and quality.

Edwin Japanese denim is now renowned for its integrity and craftsmanship, not to mention innovation and quality. The brand is now well established, with Edwin Japan upholding the ethos and aesthetic aspirations of the firm's creator. Its unique lettering is a mark of distinction and quality and features on all Edwin Jeans clothing.
