Founded in Massachusetts in 1975, Penfield have a rich heritage in crafting high quality clothing designed to withstand the harsher climates which suits us just fine seeing as our British weather can never make it's mind up what it wants to do.
From its beginnings Penfield was first and foremost an 'Outdoors' company, Penfield's distinctive American Workwear heritage complemented with directional styling results in a perfect blend of fashion (Penfield have been around a while now and are here to stay so we should really replace fashion with style) and function, the Penfield aesthetic would sit equally at home be it in the city hussle and bussle or in the New England Wilderness.
Below is the Penfield Spring/Summer 11 lookbook "A Guide for Everyman" which presents the collection at the coast, providing a nice watercolour wash out background. The theme running throughout is clearly directed to seafaring, sailors, fisherman and other sea related stuff, makes sense for the setting of the lookbook being at the coast.

For this Spring/Summer 11 Penfield being the outdoor heavyweights they are have come through with a nice lightweight clean cut collection, offering timeless designs in this subtle collection of outerwear, shirting and legwear showing they are still very much on point. Highlights being the lightweight outerwear jackets and some lovely summer friendly shirting using a subtle colour palette.
We can safely say Penfield have delivered another strong collection for Spring/Summer 11 that stays true to their 35 year old design statement "For Life in the Open" Hear hear!
