Spring/Summer 13 is very much a case of Norse strikes again, our Danish friends who are based in Copenhagan never fail to disappoint when it comes to well curated, all rounded collection. With the Spring/Summer collection due to arrive with us this coming week, we thought it fitting to offer a taster as to what to expect from the great Danes. Keeping to their ongoing ethos of simplicity and function in all their collection's designs a neat balance of simple, practical outerwear, lightweight knits and shed loads of nice jersey makes for happy times all round providing we actually get some warm weather this year. While some of our wardrobe staples remain in the collection such as the ELKA raincoat and a array of  5 panel caps this season see's some nice move on's and lots of new styles hitting the rails very soon. In particular a great selection of printed shirts which we are looking forward to getting our hands on.

The Norse Projects 13 Lookbook was styled by Stephen Mann and shot by Sacha Maric. To keep an eye of the latest arrivals to Weavers Door your best following us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Alternatively keep checking the Norse Projects brand page for the latest and greatest products.

I guess it doesn't make to much sense talking Spring/Summer while the snow is covering the country but we are due all the new stock in very soon which for us means eagerly waiting for our UPS man Dave to turn up while we're wielding stanley knives ready to get stuck into the deliveries. It's also time for us to round up all the lookbooks from our brands to give you a good idea of what to expect the next couple of months. First up is Folk, Spring/Summer 13 adds a little bit more sophistication to the collection compared to previous but without losing Folk's much adored playfullness and attention to detail. Every garment in the collection is carefully curated from the overall design to every button and thread.

Oliver Spencer AW12 Lookbook

21/11/2012 16:28

We normally feature our brand's lookbooks during the collection's arrive but we missed this brilliant (and vibrant) lookbook from Oliver Spencer. Having gained a loyal customer following instore, including myself and the store team, I thought it fitting to feature. For myself personally, Oliver Spencer's clothing is always on point, perfectly balancing formal wear with a more relaxed aesthetic, the collections ethos of quality fabrics, modern fitting, old school construction, characteristic details and exquiste craftsmanship. The recipe has remained the same since Oli started out back in 2002 and the result has meant collection after collection of wearable, interesting, elegant. Next up on the Autumn/Winter 2012 lookbook round up is London bases label You Must Create or more commonly known as YMC for short. We are always eager to get the latest clothing in from Jimmy and Fraser as they have continued to deliver well crafted garments rooted with their ethos  that clothing, beautifully tailored, ingeniously understated and full of hidden details, speaks for itself.

“Favoured designers are those anonymous souls behind the functional clothing of the factory worker, the soldier, and the outdoorsman”

YMC are a highly British form of modernism in clothes design.  A common trait with YMC that makes its with so sought after in our store is its determination to steer clear of  fleeting trends , the transient and the contingent. YMC follow the Corbusian precept that form follows function. The results, free from fads and fripperies, are as close to timeless as clothing gets.

Folk Clothing, who simply put, are the devil for the details, are back again for Spring/Summer with the latest offering of well crafted, eye catching yet subtle clothing for the warmer months. As always with Folk its not a case of feeling the need to push the boundaries beyond sense on a design ethos level, they will never add to their collection for the sake of it, either will you see a third sleeve to a shirt. What Folk do, do so well and the reason all the Weavers Door team are huge fans, is that they concentrate on the finer details, if a garment needs improving on a design level then that its exactly what they will set out to achieve through re-design, but if the garment is exactly know it should be then the focus moves on to the fabrications, the buttons, the details. We are the first to admit we enjoy being the denim geeks that we are, if that's shameful then so be it but the boundaries the indigo fabric can reach are limitations that not many fabrications can achieve, the ability to change shape and aesthetic along with what we as indivduals do in them gives denim it's beautiful character that only leather can compare to, if only we got better looking with age! The Spring/Summer 2012 collection by the Japanese denim experts brings not only a array of well crafted, premiiumquality denim's and washes to the denim bench but also some brilliant apparel to compliment.

"As the dark end of the street turns into the bright side of the road, we see the AW11 man at Edwin emancipating himself from his solitary existence in the shadow’s of lone crusading, by ingratiating himself into a tribe, his desire to roll with likeminded souls underpinned by a feeling of kinship and belonging, and a need for buddies.
The road trip aesthetic is maintained for SS12 albeit lighter in hue and tailored towards Big Sur as opposed to the Mid West. The bike, the intoxicating odour of petrol and the need for speed remain.
To ascertain the season’s highway aesthetic is to dissect the look and feel of the Edwin motorbike brotherhood ‘Sons of the Summer’ thereby illustrating the highlights of what is the most comprehensive spring summer collusion of fabric, function and form from Edwin for many years." They were out of stock for a while and we waited patiently for their safe return and we are happy to let all know our favourite Swedish bag and accessory makers are back and available for the run up to Christmas. Founded in Stockholm 2004, by Anton Sandqvist who ethos behind the beginning was to create bags and accessories that would be used and enjoyed in practical everyday life. Combining simplicity, style, durability and function are the key aspects behind Sandqvist bags and inspiration is taken from "people who stand out in the crowd". Influences come from people around the team at Sandqvist who stand out from the mass and from garments and interiors with worn elegance. Sandqvist state they recycle history as they know it and refine it out of their minds, sounds interestingly complicated.

From starting out his basement crafting Sandqvist bags and accessories after working as a mechanical engineer for several years, we congratulate Anton for what the brand has achieved so far from its humble beginnings. Although the setting of their latest lookbook has been set in the open outdoors the Sandqvist bags feel just as at home on your back on a journey to the office or through your city on a forever eye opening urban adventure. To take a closer look at the latest Sandqvist bags and accessories including the return of Roald and Stig and the warmly welcomed new comer Lars-Goran view all on our website here.
